Privacy policy

Thread lookups and local storage

No app account is required. Thread calculations and lookups run on your device. We do not send your thread selections, dimensions or saved lookup history to our servers. History, language and unit preferences are stored locally. Delete saved records in History; uninstalling the app removes its local app data, subject to your device backup settings.

Advertising and consent

The app displays Google AdMob banner ads, including after the paid unlock. Google and its advertising partners may process IP addresses and approximate location derived from them, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, app interactions, crash reports and performance diagnostics. These are used to deliver and measure advertising, perform analytics and prevent fraud. The Google Mobile Ads SDK encrypts its transmitted data in transit.

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request advertising consent where required. Advertising privacy options appear in Settings when available for your region. Your choices affect the ads that can be requested. On Apple devices, the app requests tracking permission before starting advertising. Access to the IDFA advertising identifier requires your permission; without it, that identifier is unavailable and the app requests non-personalized ads. You can manage tracking or advertising identifiers in your device settings. Thread lookup does not require granting advertising tracking permission.

Google's handling of advertising data is described in its Privacy Policy and information about partner apps. Data may be processed outside your country under the provider's safeguards. The app does not request precise location, contacts, camera or microphone access.

Purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play handles payment. We do not receive your card number or other payment credentials. The app uses store transaction information, including the product identifier and purchase verification data, to verify and restore your unlock. Verification data and the local unlock state may be stored on your device. Store providers retain transaction records under their own policies and legal obligations.

Support and privacy requests

If you email contact@ndfamily.net, we receive your address and the content you send. We use this information to answer your request and resolve reported issues, retaining it only as needed for those purposes and applicable obligations. Please avoid sending confidential engineering documents. Contact this address to request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence. For data controlled by Apple or Google, use their privacy controls or contact them directly.

Children

Thread Profiles is a technical reference tool intended for a general audience of engineering learners and practitioners, not specifically for young children. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact us so we can address it.

Changes

We update this page if the app's data practices change and revise the effective date above.
